Emergency Support
Southern WI American Red Cross
FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) - DISASTER. It strikes anytime, anywhere. It takes many forms -- a
hurricane, an earthquake, a tornado, a flood, a fire or a hazardous
spill, an act of nature or an act of terrorism. It builds over days or
weeks, or hits suddenly, without warning. Every year, millions of
Americans face disaster, and its terrifying consequences. On March 1, 2003, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The
primary mission of the Federal Emergency Management Agency is to reduce
the loss of life and property and protect the Nation from all hazards,
including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made
disasters, by leading and supporting the Nation in a risk-based,
comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection,
response, recovery, and mitigation.
Rock County Emergency Management - Rock County Emergency Management coordinates
major emergencies, disaster response and recovery efforts in support
of the county and local governments. Through planning, training and
exercising we prepare response agencies, volunteer organizations,
the private sector and citizens to respond to and recover from
disasters. With these educational and planning efforts we hope to
provide and improve public safety to minimize the loss of lives and
property.
Jefferson County Emergency Management - This office functions under the direction of the County Administrator,
with policy guidance of the Jefferson County Board's Law
Enforcement/Emergency Management Committee. The Emergency Management
Office prepares and maintains County emergency operations plans;
coordinates and assists in developing town and municipal emergency
management plans within the County; coordinates and participates in
local emergency management training programs and exercises; and
provides emergency information and public education to prepare the
County and its municipalities to cope with natural or man-made
disasters.
Wisconsin Emergency Management
- Wisconsin Emergency Management efforts are coodinated with local,
state, tribal and federal agencies as well as volunteer and private
sector partners. We support 72 Wisconsin counties and bring emergency
management services to the state's 5.5 million citizens. Our central
office is located in Madison and we have six regional offices that
provide local support.
