Giving is easier than you may think.
Every two seconds, a patient in the United States needs blood. During certain times of the year, such as the summer and major holidays, the need can far outpace donations. Please make an appointment to donate today. Your blood is needed more than you think.
Local hospital needs are always met first. However, as a national blood system, the American Red Cross has a unique responsibility to help ensure all hospital patients throughout the United States have blood when they need it.
Simply call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visit givebloodgivelife.org to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Eligible donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with a signed Red Cross parental/guardian consent form where state permits, must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health.
The Red Cross is a non for profit organization that prepares and assists our communities in emergency situations. All Red Cross emergency assistance is given free of charge. An emergency situation can range from the loss of a single family dwelling because of a fire to the loss of an entire community due to a tornado or hurricane. The Red Cross opens shelters for those evacuated or displaced by a disaster and provides meals to families and emergency workers in impacted areas. In addition to providing basic assistance, the Red Cross also lets people know about other available community or government resources for individuals needing long-term recovery assistance when other resources are not available or are inadequate.
When disaster strikes, the Red Cross assists in meeting the physical and emotional health and safety needs associated with the disaster. If a loved one is in the affected area, family members from outside the area can call their local Red Cross chapter and request assistance in determining the well-being of their family members.
The Red Cross work force consists mainly of volunteers, who donate their time & skills.
We are funded by generous financial contributions.
We accept real estate, vehicle and stock donations as well.
